Get Backlinks from Donation and Charity sites

This is not a new idea and I had put this as one of the link building technique in my SEO Tips article but I felt to make a bigger blog post as this is a great way to get high PR links in the time when link selling is taking its last breaths and links brokers are dead.

How to get Backlinks from Donation and Charity websites

You can search CharityNavigator website to find the list of charity websites in USA and contact them by phone and ask for a link in return of donation. Not only you will be able to get a great link, you will only get self satisfaction that your money went for good cause. The Charitynavigator site has tons of charities listed in categories with websites, so you can easily chose something which suits the niche of your site.

Another great way to get links is by funding Open source software projects. Sourceforge is a great place to start your search for open source projects which are looking for funding. You can also go to the IRC channels of big projects to find people who are looking for some small donation for their projects.

There can be unlimited places from where you can get links by giving donation (think, think,think) but do make sure that you don’t go for aggressive link from homepage as this can cause problem later on. It will be good if you get a link from internal page and with some text around it related to that site.
