How to get Traffic and Backlinks from Squidoo - Advanced

This is a Second Part of How to Get Traffic and Backlinks from Squidoo series. You can read the first part here.

Now in this article let me tell you some tips and tricks and how to use Squidoo for your advantage. Some of the practices are ofcourse little shady and can be called gray hat. Try them at your own risk.

1. Use Squidoo as a platform for experiment (Ok, Seth may not like this ) like effect of wrong spellings on serps or keyword density. Ofcourse you can later delete such lenses Squidoo is a great service. Also Never use your main squidoo accounts to built such lenses as it can get lock for manual review and can also get deleted.

2. Use Squidoo Tags to get good traffic. Normally people only put 2 or 3 tags and forgets about it but I will highly advice you to use all the 20 tags (the option is on the right hand side) as your lens will be shown on more number of pages. Not only that, some squidoo tags as well as lenses in those tags rank really well so you may get some added traffic from search engines too.

3. Content scrapping and Content rewriting - Writing articles on your own and that too for 3rd party service is not the most exciting thing in the world. So people often do content scrapping as well as rewrite PLR (Private lavel articles) and publish them on squidoo. These lenses probably won’t rank in Google but due to Method #2, you can still get good rankings. People normally use this method to sell there CJ and ClickBank products.

4. Build one Great Lens on Squidoo, You can Hire a good writer and pay him $75 to get the work done but ideally I will suggest you to do this on your own because hiring writers sucks. And use this Great squidoo lens to do things which you can do with your site like dropping the lens here and there without getting tagged as spammer!

5. Use Squidoo Lenses as satellite website - well there is no point in building 20 different websites and interlinking them and doing this and that and everything (its so 2005 anyway). Now in 2008, start using squidoo (and similar services like ezine,hubpages,zimbio,wetpaint) to funnel traffic to your sites/sales letters. This method is fast and cheap (Thumb Rule - Always try to spend as less money as possible on testing things so when you fail,it won’t hurt you much)

And that is it. I think I have given you enough ideas to work on and keep you busy to drive traffic and build links from squidoo. Lastly, make sure you don’t over spam it as pushing anything too much never helps anyone.
